Do you like to play cards, ride motorcycles, watch movies, or simply hang out with friends?
Happy Hour for Hearing
- What a great excuse for getting your friends together for a refreshing libation! Ask the bar owner if you can pass a hat around to collect donations from other imbibers.
- Or call it "Hops for Hearing" if beer is your beverage of choice.

The Redmond Lions played
poker for Play it bye Ear 2006.
Hearts for Hearing
- This could be poker, bunko, pinochle, or even Go Fish – whatever card game you would enjoy playing over a friendly wager.
Harleys for Hearing (aka Hogs for Hearing)
- Host a motorcycle ride. Riders collect a certain amount in donations to participate; the top fundraiser gets to lead the pack.
- Raffle a prize, like a jacket, from a local bike shop.
Hits for Hearing (the Hollywood version)
- Movie night at the theater or the house of the person with the best snacks and biggest TV. Turn off the sound and show something in closed captioning to really get into the spirit.
Piggybacking
- This is a great method if your Lions Club or group is already jam-packed with events or isn't able to create a new one right now.
- Simply add a hearing awareness component and designate a portion of the proceeds from somthing you're already doing, whether it's an auction, pumpkin sales, race, or Oktoberfest.
"Ears to You!"
- Honor a special Lion or community member with a dinner and roast from family and friends. The Lakewood First Lions had a lot of fun with this one in 2006 and earned one of our top awards.
