Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight & Hearing
Mike Parker
Lions Health Screening Unit Operations Manager
Mike Parker grew up in Skamokawa, WA, and Cathlamet, WA. He has been a Lions member for 32 years and is Past District Governor of District 19-G. Mike started working at the Foundation in 1999 and became Operations Manager for the Lions Health Screening Unit in 2000. His responsibilities as supervisor of day-to-day operations include keeping the sophisticated medical diagnostics equipment in the 62-foot long unit well-maintained, as well as often personally driving the unit from community to community. Mike's friendly disposition and previous experience driving a logging truck, coupled with an AA degree in technical Engineering from Lower Columbia College, make him the perfect man for this job.
Outside of his job, Mike's main interests are photography, computers, and family, not necessarily in that order. He is also an airplane buff, primarily warbirds from the Second World War. He learned to fly over 30 years ago and is interested in anything to do with aviation.
He always tells people,"Working on the LHSU is the best job I've ever had."
